We are still working to improve our museum’s accessibility, pending funding. We will update this page with any changes. At present, this is how you’ll find our museum:
- Four parking spaces are available directly outside of the building. Two additional spaces are designated for those with mobility needs.
- The main entrance is accessed via three steps, with one railing. Our second entrance is equipped with a mobility ramp. A small patch of gravel/earth must be navigated before entering the ramp. A small wedge helps to transition over the door’s 2-inch threshold. For security reasons, there is no doorknob at this entrance. Instead, please use our doorbell to let us know when you’ve arrived. We will be more than happy to help.
- A small ramp leads from the community hall into the museum.
- Due to the nature of our historic building, the floors are not perfectly even. Grates and other small hazards in the floor have been marked with white tape.
- The community section of our museum is elevated by two steps, with a small railing to help. This area may be inaccessible to those with increased mobility needs. Thankfully, many items from this area are intended to be handled and can be moved to more accessible areas for viewing.
- Our washroom is equipped with three handrails. At this time, we do not have a baby change station.
- Ample seating is available in the community hall for those who need it.
