Military

Waverley has served as the home of a militia to fend of raiders during the Fenian Scare in the 1860s and sacrificed its young men and women during WWI and WWII. The schools in the area were named in memoriam L.C. Skerry and all soldiers and nurses who served.

The Military Collection contains photographs, autograph books, a WWI embroidered postcard, a 1917 nurse’s journal, a letter of condolence from the Royal Canadian Air Force, and other archival materials.
